Be self-employed

Can students apply for Global Talent visa?

Yes, students may apply for Global Talent visa while remaining in the UK provided they fulfil one of the following conditions:

1) Condition A:

a. the applicant must have completed the course of study for which the CAS was assigned; or

2) Condition B:

a.The applicant must be studying a full-time course of study leading to the award of a PHD with a higher education provider which has a track record of compliance; and

b.The COS must have a start date no earlier than 24 months after the date of that course.

Who is Eligible for Global Talent Visa?

The applicant must have either a Technical or business background. Some of the examples of the background are:

Technical Skills:

Virtual and augmented reality developers

Business Skills:

Experience as a commercial / business lead (P&L, growth, sales and distribution strategy) in a digital business

Experience as C Suite in a SMEs + (CEO, CMO, CIO) or head of operations for a digital business

Experienced and senior VC or PE analysts with track records of leading investments in digital businesses

Experience of expanding or growing a significant product-led digital technology business

Experience of leading substantial VC investment over £25m GBP

Experienced Product Manager

Performance marketing experts, performed in house for digital businesses

SaaS or enterprise sales leadership for digital services

Sector-specific experience for example, payment infrastructure in FinTech / international expansion in EdTech and so on.

Solution sales experts

Solution sales skills performed for a growing B2B digital business (i.e. not big-company experience)

Endorsement

All prospective applicants must have endorsement to prove that they are either leaders or potential leaders in their respective fields, unless they are one of the recipients of an eligible award. . An application needs to be made to the home office who will refer those to Tech Nation.

Applying as a Leader (Exceptional Talent)

The applicant is required to establish that he has been recognised by others as being a leading talent in the digital technology field in the last 5 years.

He must also show that at least 2 of the following are true:

He has a record of innovation as a founder or senior executive of a product-led digital technology company

He has a record of innovation where you’ve worked in a new digital technology field or concept as an employee

He has contributed to the digital technology sector outside of work, for example mentoring or collaborative projects

He has set up or worked in a product-led digital technology company, and have made technical, commercial, or entrepreneurial contributions in the digital technology sector

He had research published or endorsed by an expert

Applying as a Potential Leader (Exceptional Promise)

The applicant is required to show that he has been recognised by others as being a potential talent in the digital technology field in the last 5 years.

You must also show that at least 2 of the following are true:

He can show innovation as a founder of a product-led digital technology company

He can show innovation where you’ve worked in a new digital technology field or concept as an employee

He can show you’ve contributed to the digital technology sector outside of work, for example by mentoring or through collaborative projects

He can show you’ve set up or worked in a product-led digital technology company and have made significant technical, commercial, or entrepreneurial contributions in the digital technology sector

He has had research published or endorsed by an expert

Applying as a Potential Leader (Exceptional Promise)

The applicant is required to show that he has been recognised by others as being a potential talent in the digital technology field in the last 5 years.

You must also show that at least 2 of the following are true:

He can show innovation as a founder of a product-led digital technology company

He can show innovation where you’ve worked in a new digital technology field or concept as an employee

There are no language or minimum salary eligibility requirements for Global Talen visa applications.

Global Talent migrants may also apply for Indefinite leave to remain :

Upon completion of 3 years if the migrant is applying as a leader

Upon completion of 5 years if the migrant is applying as a potential leader.
